Immediate focus

Develop Extended Day & Saturday Academies to improve basic skills in reading, math, writing & technology. These academies will provide an opportunity for our young men to meet with mentors and college & career coaches.
Create a Summer Leadership program with Bowie State University to introduce and improve the academic skills of our young men in STEAM related fields.
Creating MBKPGCN Career Summits to bring together partners from the social and private sectors for on-the-spot hiring, interviews, record expungement, LinkedIn training, resume workshops, and other skill-building activities.

Sustainability & Paying it Forward

Making strategic investments in Transforming Neighborhoods and underserved communities to support existing workforce development infrastructure and scale programs with proven results, based on preparation and surveys of local infrastructure.
Collecting data at Opportunity Summits to track career development opportunities for Boys and Young Men of Color, compiling success stories, and creating a feedback loop that will improve employment and service provider coordination in the future. Supporting cradle-to-career interventions to help Boys and Young Men of Color reach milestones to success..

OUR GOALS ARE TO:

  • Increase number of males graduating from high school ready for college and careers.
  • Increase number of males completing post-secondary education or training;
  • Increase the number of males entering the workforce; with viable career options​;
  • Reduce violence and provide a second chance to men re –entering their communities through community outreach networks.
  • Develop partnerships with local & national organizations, non-profits, private businesses, local community leaders and philanthropic organizations.
  • Expose young men of color to new opportunities and life experiences that stimulate educational and career aspirations
  • Create a Schools to college & career pipeline
  • Provide academic support to complete high school and encourage post-secondary education​
  • Provide a GED Preparatory Program for students who are beyond one year of graduation.
